TIOGA-FRANKLIN SAVINGS BANK
Celebrating 150 years of banking in Philadelphia

OVERVIEW
Tioga-Franklin Savings Bank, the oldest chartered bank in Philadelphia, hired Plus4 to spearhead a PR campaign to celebrate its 150th anniversary.
In honor of this major milestone, Tioga-Franklin’s CEO commissioned local artist Lucas David Aguilera to paint a mural inside the Bank’s lobby depicting the neighborhood’s progression from the time Tioga-Franklin was founded in 1873 until present day.
Our strategy leveraged this unique visual storytelling opportunity to position Tioga-Franklin not only as Philadelphia’s oldest bank, but an institution deeply woven into the city’s fabric. We targeted both local Philadelphia media and national banking trade publications to maximize reach across consumer and industry audiences.
RESULTS
Plus4 secured premium coverage for Tioga-Franklin’s 150th anniversary, including a feature story in the Philadelphia Inquirer’s business section (reaching 200K+ daily readers) and a write-up in Star News Philly highlighting the bank’s neighborhood impact. The campaign also generated coverage in three major banking industry publications: Hometown Banker Magazine, Independent Banker, and American Banker, establishing Tioga-Franklin’s story within the broader banking community. This successful anniversary campaign demonstrated how community banks can leverage milestone moments to strengthen local relationships while building industry credibility—a strategy that continues to guide Tioga-Franklin’s ongoing community engagement efforts.
